ANG visits Pitti Bimbo

ANG NEW VIEWThe ANG team was lucky enough to visit Pitti Bimbo, one of the most important events on the international kidswear calendar, and meet some truly inspirational designers who are helping to set future fashion trends.

You know you are in for a goodtime when you get to catch up with old (and new) friends to talk about a few of your favourite things: kids, fashion and Florence.

And despite the gloomy weather and at times heavy rain, this is exactly what happened at this year’s first Pitti Bimbo children’s fashion event.

On show in the Pitti stalls were a mix of new and inspiring collections from a long list of emerging designers, up-and-coming labels, as well as samples from some of the worlds top fashion houses.

While it was hard to visit each individual stall, it quickly became clear that the adult runway offerings are starting to influence children’s clothing.

One brand that caught our eye was Studio 19-11, with their collection from streetwear label Munster – an Australian brand that takes its style tips from the country’s rich surf and skate culture.

It was also good to see that the number of new view collections – think retro knits, experimental design and eco-friendly materials – is increasing.  Overall the theme was fresh, edgy, fun and inspirational.

Parents of little girls might want to head to the nearest store and buy a tutu, with costumewear a major part of kid’s fashion this season.

As well as being a great place to see what is happening in fashion and share ideas, Pitti was also a fantastic opportunity to meet people we are excited about working with in the year ahead.

So please follow the links for more information on where to view or buy items from these amazing designers and retailers.
